Resistance Is Growing

You can’t fix something if you don’t know it’s broken – or why it’s broken.

The biggest challenge facing the Tea Parties in the months to come is to educate our fellow citizens about the nature of the threats to freedom coming daily from ruling elites in Washington and a toxic popular culture.

The next step is to galvanize Tea Party voters into action. This will be the focus of our upcoming Tea Party Summit in Dallas on March 25 in conjunction with United in Purpose’s Voter Mobilization Strategy Summit. The event will feature speakers James Robison of Life Outreach International, Howard Kaloogian of Tea Party Express and Catherine Engelbrecht, founder of King Street Patriots and True the Vote. If you aren’t among those registered for this, our third, national forum, you’ll have other opportunities.

I have traveled to Washington the past two weeks meeting with like-minded conservative leaders and elected officials, strategizing on how we can best leverage our resources to motivate and mobilize evangelical Christians and the Tea Parties this fall. I’m excited about what we accomplished, and will be sharing plans with you soon, so please stay tuned.

Dr. Ben Carson, the nation’s most celebrated pediatric neurosurgeon, is becoming the voice of resistance against those who would radically transform America into something we would not recognize.

In his Washington Times column, below, he explains why Obamacare proponents must demonize people like him –and us – to reach their goal of ending individual freedom in America. Dr. Carson has said some very provocative things lately, as further reported in Robert Knight’s column.

The good news is that the political Left, like the devil, has badly overreached. Growing numbers of Americans are aware that they must resist its advance or lose their liberties. The Obama presidency is in disarray, with blunders and calamities that reach from California to the Crimea. The elites are stepping up their bullying ways, looking sillier every day.

This past weekend, the mayors of Boston and New York boycotted their cities’ St. Patrick’s Day parades because parade organizers would not allow the events to be turned into promotional forums for homosexual and transgender activists.  Three beer giants also pulled their support — Guinness, Sam Adams and Heineken.

Think about this for a moment. The largest brewer in the world, based in Dublin, punishes a New York parade dedicated to the saint who liberated Ireland from centuries of pagan darkness.  Wrong is right, and right is wrong in the bizarre New Age before which the ruling elites expect us to bow down. Well, we’re not about to drink that poisoned brew.

And we will work all the harder to deal the elites a crippling blow this November and begin restoring our self-governing republic.  There are many good signs, one of which was the unexpected victory last week in Florida’s open seat congressional election. Republican David Jolly, who ignored the usual GOP advice to present an unthreatening campaign, hammered away at Obamacare and defeated much better known and better funded Democrat Alex Sink. This sent shock waves through Washington, which is usually a good thing.

Another good thing is that the “global warming” charade orchestrated by Al Gore and environmental extremists is on the run during one of the coldest winters on record. Some parts of the Washington, D.C. area got a foot of snow on St. Patrick’s Day, turning global warming enthusiasts green with dread.  The latest satellite data show that the Earth has not become warmer in at least 210 straight months (since 1996). White House science advisor John Holdren, who once advocated compulsory abortions, has been issuing fatwas against dissident scientists who will not support anthropogenic global warming theory. It’s the last, desperate gasp of an exposed scam.

Political Correctness and the Slavery of Obamacare

I have stated in the past that Obamacare is the worst thing to occur in our country since slavery. Why did I make such a strong statement? Obviously, I recognize the horrors of slavery. My roots have been traced back to Africa, and I am aware of some horrendous deeds inflicted on my ancestors in this country.

The purpose of the statement was not to minimize the most evil institution in American history, but rather to draw attention to a profound shift of power from the people to the government.

I think this shift is beginning to wrench the nation from one centered on the rights of individual citizens to one that accepts the right of the government to control even the most essential parts of our lives. This strikes a serious blow to the concept of freedom that gave birth to this nation.

Resistance in the Age of Bullying

I don’t know about you, but I’m hearing more and more from people around the country who are terrified about where the nation is headed.

Every day, we’re confronted with more unchecked abuses of power. Judges, attorneys general, governors, legislators and the president of the United States are openly ignoring their oaths to uphold the law.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS), fresh from being exposed for targeting Tea Parties, brazenly proposes new rules to make sure agents can continue the persecution without worrying about legalities. Even the mighty National Football League and the 2015 Super Bowl were used as leverage by homosexual activists and their corporate allies to kill a much-needed religious-freedom bill in Arizona recently.

Dr. Ben S. Carson is a man who does not engage in hyperbole. His sheer reasonableness, along with a stellar career as one of the nation’s top neurosurgeons, terrifies liberals.

In an interview with BreitbartTV.com at the recent Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), he likened the current trend of intimidation in America to conditions in Nazi Germany.

My First 50 Years in the Conservative Movement: Reflections and Observations

Here are the lessons I’ve learned along the way, most of which you won’t hear on talk radio or read in the blogosphere.

1. Many who call themselves conservatives have a comic-book view of conservatism. Talk to anyone under 35 at the Conservative Political Action Conference (the annual orgy of self-congratulation and muddled thinking just ended) and you’re likely to hear the following: “I’m an economic conservative.” (In other words, “I have no idea of what a conservative is.”)

       2. Our cause is faith, family and freedom. These are building blocks. We start with faith, because liberty, morality and human nature (on which the first two are based) are of God. The family because it is the foundation of social order and the cradle of civilization. Freedom because it gives us the chance to find our way to God, and the ability to have families and make life’s most important decisions.

3. Conservatives are patriots, not nationalists. We love America; we don’t worship the nation state. We understand that, internationally, America isn’t always right.
