Mobilizing Pastors
Pastors are the spiritual leaders in their communities. Vision America recognizes this vital role. We are working to encourage these God-given leaders to equip their congregates to promote their values in their communities. Scripture advises, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." Godly leaders are needed to inspire Godly people to be a Godly influence.
Promoting Values
Godly people are called to be a light in their community. In a secular society, many basic values are overlooked. Vision America promotes four basic values:
- The Value of Human Life
- The Sanctity of Marriage and Family
- Personal Decency and Moral Integrity
- Religious Liberty
Encouraging Citizens
We do not live in a bubble. As members of a democratic nation, we have the privilege and responsibility to represent our values in the public arena. Vision America provides resources and encouragement for Godly men and women to influence their communities confidently.

Scarborough and other grass-roots conservative religious leaders believe the federal courts are trouncing Christian values on marriage, abortion and other right-to-life issues raised in the Terri Schiavo case. While he lacks the name recognition of more prominent religious activists, such as James Dobson of Focus on the Family, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council and evangelist Pat Robertson, Scarborough is a potent force with close ties to House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) and influential Senate conservatives.

Dr. Scarborough sat with Rare Jewel Magazine recently to discuss the spiritual condition of our country. He addressed several issues that concern pastors and their congregations as they are called to be "salt and light" in their communities. Dr. Scarborough said:
"I would say, one of the things that drives me forward is there are a lot of preachers and a lot of Christians in America who have basically washed their hands of this culture as if to say, 'We're living in the last days, it's only going to get worse, some of the end times problems are being fulfilled, so why dirty your hands with the culture? Let's just get as many off this sinking ship as we can.' But there's one verse of one very clear prophecy regarding end times that gives me great encouragement for an Awakening in America:
"In Matthew 24 Jesus said, 'This Gospel shall be preached to every creature. Then shall the end come' [verse 14]. I see a great ray of hope in that one verse -- that a great, sweeping revival can come to America. There's no nation on earth better prepared theologically, economically, and technologically than the United States of America to quickly take the Gospel around the world, if, in fact, true revival were to break out in this country. The eyes of the whole world are focused on our nation... we have every tool we need to do it swiftly but the one thing we lack right now is revival."
