Obama and Transparency: Except for Proof of Citizenship

It appears that the issue of citizenship isn't going away as easily as the Obama administration might have hoped. On Friday night Alan Keyes and Orly Taitz were interviewed on CNN where they were allowed less than a minute and a half of an almost seven minute interview to make the continued point that Barack Obama's United States citizenship is questionable at best. If ever there was needed proof that CNN is in the tank for Obama, CNN provided it by the way Keyes and Taitz were treated. Decide for yourself by viewing the following link...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyw90ykQAEk.
Article 2, Section 1, of the Constitution of the United States, states, "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President..." To date, though numerous requests have been made, the President has not provided proof of his citizenship. The Constitutionality of the current President of the United States is brought into question, and this simply cannot remain unchallenged.
Obama has spent between almost $1 million in legal fees in an effort to keep his birth certificate and school records private, which is unheard of in the history of the United States presidency. Last year, after much intense pressure to do so, Obama finally released his Certification of Live Birth in Hawaii. This differs from a Certificate of Live Birth in that it is shorter and does not list any names of hospitals, doctors or any signatures.
Interestingly, Hawaiian Statute 338, Sect. 17.8 states specifically "upon application [for citizenship] of an adult or the legal parents of a minor child, the director of health shall issue a birth certificate for such adult or minor." In other words, a birth certificate is issued to any child whose parents applies for and are awarded citizenship in Hawaii. Regardless of whether or not the minor child was actually born there. This law is unique to the state of Hawaii.
Hawaiian government agencies do not even recognize the Certification of Live Birth as poof of an individual's birth in Hawaii! They require additional verification before it is accepted as an official document. On June 13, 2008, the Hawaii Department of Home Lands stated on its website:
"In order to process your application, DHHL utilizes information that is found only on the original Certificate of Live Birth, which is either black or green. This is a more complete record of your birth than the Certification of Live Birth (a computer-generated printout). Submitting the original Certificate of Live Birth will save you time and money since the computer-generated Certification requires additional verification by DHHL."
Obama has faced dozens of legal challenges in reference to his citizenship, including one that some of you partnered with us to conduct last Spring. Perhaps the most amazing and courageous challenge came as a result of a request filed on July 8 by U.S. Army Major Stephen Frederick Cook for a Temporary Restraining Order on his deployment to Afghanistan. Major Cook cited his belief that Barack Obama was not born in the United States and is "therefore ineligible to be Commander-in-Chief."
In response to his stance, Major Cook received a telephone call on July 14 that his orders to Afghanistan were revoked and that his "services were no longer needed." In addition, he was terminated from his civilian job.
All of this could be cleared up by Obama simply producing a certified copy of his birth certificate. I guess transparency has its limits.
