Next year Texas will receive four additional Congressional Seats in the House of Representatives. Currently Republicans hold a slim three vote majority in the Texas House of Representatives and the party that holds the majority in the Texas House will control how the new seats are allocated through redistricting. Both parties decry the politics involved in redistricting, but the fact remains that either the Republicans or the Democrats will draw those lines and you can rest assured they will draw them up in such a way to affect outcomes.

On April 20, 2010, police arrested Dale McAlpine, a 42-year-old Baptist street preacher in Britain for telling a passerby -- in earshot of a policewoman -- that God views homosexuality as a sin. Under Britain's Public Order Act 1986, which forbids "using threatening, abusive or insulting words ... tending to and causing harassment, alarm or distress," he will face a criminal trial at a date yet to be determined. McAlpine was fingerprinted, given a DNA swab and retina scan, and was locked in a police cell for seven hours.

Recently we discovered that the ACLU, under the guise of seeking justice for Guantanamo detainees (our latest euphemism for terrorists who blow up people and buildings for a living), have been routinely revealing classified information to the suspected terrorist by showing them pictures of undercover operatives so that they could finger who "tortured" them while in detention. By revealing the names and identities of our CIA operatives, the ACLU and their lawyers have risked not only the lives of these career public servants, but their entire families as well.

On Tuesday's show, David Letterman made several jokes at the expense of the daughters of Alaska governor Sarah Palin, who is a conservative and an outspoken Christian. The jokes started with a reference to the governor's visit to Yankee stadium, sitting in “far, far right field” with Rudy Giuliani. They then became more degrading: “"The toughest part of her visit was keeping Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter." It continued with his Top 10 joke that Palin's daughter got "knocked up" by Alex Rodriguez.

The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act, S.909, is currently being considered by the Senate. It has already passed the House as H.R. 1913. It will expand current federal hate crime laws to include sexual orientation and gender identity. It has also been dubbed the Pedophile Protection Act because an amendment to exclude pedophiles as a protected class was struck down.

This weekend World Net Daily posted a lead article concerning a letter I wrote to the United States Senate in regards to S. 909, the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act. The bill has already passed the house as H.R. 1913 and a hearing is expected in the Senate Judiciary Committee soon. In the letter I urged members of the Senate to stand up on behalf of all God-fearing Americans and stop this maddening march to the destruction of our First Amendment right to freely practice our religion and the right of the clergy to preach against the sin of homosexuality from the pulpit.

Currently MSNBC.com is running a poll to which almost fifteen million Americans have responded. They posed the question, "Should the motto 'In God We Trust!' remain on U.S. currency?" An overwhelming 88% responded with YES, stating that the "motto has historical and patriotic significance and does nothing to establish a state religion." The remaining 12% voted no, noting that it violates the principle of separation of church and state.

I knew it was only a matter of time before those who stood up to our government would be viewed as “dangerous” or labeled as “extremists” who need to be “watched.” It has now happened. The Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis recently released a nine page document entitled "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment." Their intent was to warn local law enforcement officials such as police and sheriff’s departments across the U.S. about the increase in “rightwing extremist activity.”

Kathleen Sebelius, nominated by Obama for the position of Health and Human Services Secretary. On March 31 she wrote a letter to the Senate Finance Committee notifying them that she had filed amended tax returns for the years 2005-2007. She also recently paid $7,040 in back taxes as well as $878 interest for those same years. She is expected to be confirmed for the position.

Senator Dan Patrick’s ultrasound bill, S.B. 182, has been put on the Senate Intent Calendar for a vote as early as Wednesday or Thursday of this week. This is a pro-life bill that would require an ultrasound to be performed on a woman considering an abortion as well as an opportunity to hear the fetal heartbeat. The doctor would also be required to explain the ultrasound to the woman, showing her the size of the baby as well as the outline of any internal organs that are forming.

The Democrats failed to train their delegates on how to act during prayer. I happened to watch one of the prayers at the Democrat Convention. The camera showed Michele Obama, and Mr. and Mrs. Biden. They had their heads bowed. However, none of the people around them in the shot did. Their heads were unbowed. They were all looking around with their eyes open. I learned from others who saw more people that it was unusual to find anyone with heads bowed and their eyes closed.

Yet, where are the news stories proclaiming "gasoline at $4.00 per gallon while Congress refuses to authorize offshore drilling - women, children and the poor hardest hit?" Dear Vision America Supporter, In a 7-4 decision in Planned Parenthood v. Rounds, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a South Dakota law requiring abortionists to notify women seeking an abortion in writing that "abortion will terminate the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being." They affirmed that the unborn child is human! This is a major move in making abortion history and a huge step towards overturning Roe v. Wade, the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that opened up the abortion floodgates in America. The Court held that in order to challenge the statute, Planned Parenthood would have to prove the statement false, misleading or irrelevant. The organization offered no such evidence, because it couldn't--because none exists. Fetal development isn't a matter of opinion or conjecture; it is scientific fact.

A Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton presidential ticket? It may be right around the corner, now that Clinton has thrown her full, unqualified support to the Obama candidacy this past weekend. But she does have competition for that slot. Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine and Virginia Sen. Jim Webb are two highly prominent Democrats who have been frequently mentioned as possible Obama running mates. Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius is another potential running mate who could pull some of the same voters that Clinton would pull to the ticket. However, in an interesting twist, CNN is reporting their poll that found 60 percent of Clinton supporters would support Obama, 17 percent would vote for McCain and 22 percent would not vote at all.

The Supreme Court by a convincing majority of six-to-three affirmed a principle the American people have overwhelmingly supported for some time: asking citizens to produce a simple form of identification before voting. In its ruling the Court upheld a 2005 Indiana law requiring photo IDs for voters. Under the law, a voter who shows up at the polls without a photo ID can cast a provisional ballot to be counted only if, within the next 10 days, the voter shows a photo ID to the local county clerk.

Last week, according to the Washington Times, Senator Arlen Specter threatened to “close the Senate down†unless the president’s Circuit Court of Appeals nominees get a straight up or down vote. Specter is the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. One key battle for the future of our nation is being fought in the judicial nomination process. As long as elected politicians lack the backbone to take a stand for the Constitution, we are reliant on judges to impose those Constitutional limits on themselves. On February 28, 2008, three judges from the Court of Appeal handed down a very controversial decision regarding a case involving a home school family. Their opinion holds that home schooling is not a legal option in California. On Tuesday, the California Court of Appeal agreed to a request by lawyers from the Alliance Defense Fund to reconsider the decision.

George Soros is also the finances behind MoveOn.org, a left-wing attack organization.

GOP debate gets heated as Super Tuesday looms

Super Tuesday will be definitive for both parties as the field narrows down. While Clinton still has the national lead in polls, Obama won in South Carolina and received Kennedy's endorsement so he has an outside shot at the Democratic nomination. The departure of Edwards will have an interesting impact also. Giuliani has been the big loser. After months of double digit leads in 2007, his aloof treatment of early states has cost him as he banked everything on Florida. To his credit, he is dropping out of the race before Super Tuesday to avoid further confusion of his party's nomination process.

Huckabee and McCain Overtake Giuliani Nationally

While Huckabee was the run away winner in Iowa, McCain was the run away winner in New Hampshire. The race could come down to these two men unless Giuliani wins big in Florida or can win big on Super Tuesday. The latest national polling has McCain and Huckabee ahead of Giuliani--where both men had been trailing the former New York mayor for months by double digits. Their refusal to attack each other also leaves some wondering if the two men wouldn’t make a great ticket together for their party. Romney's candidacy suffered the most damage in the first two primaries and some pundits feel he must win Michigan or he will appear to be spending his funds in vain. Thompson left with his campaign alive in Iowa and now his campaign hinges on South Carolina. Although Mike Huckabee has a huge lead in the polls it would not be wise to write off any of the top five in this race just yet.

In a remarkably revealing demonstration of the media’s aversion to Christianity, NBC and other media outlets have ranted for days about how Mike Huckabee is using his faith to appeal to voters. Their proof, for which some on the left are hyperventilating, was that he had the audacity to make a campaign ad in which he sat in a library setting and wished all a Merry Christmas--mentioning that it was the celebration of the birth of Christ.
